Nuzlocke X-Chapter 8

The group rushed into Lumiose City and saw smoke rise out of the central area. There were construction workers that kept people out and said the same thing to them.

Construction worker: Sorry there has been a power outage, so it’s dangerous to go there.

The group walked up to the workers, and the workers noticed them.

Construction Worker: Sorry, but there is…

Sina: Another one of Clemont’s experiment?

The construction worker looked down and sighed.

Construction Worker: Unfortunately, yes. Clemont had an accident, and it caused a power outage throughout the northern part of the city.

5 minutes earlier in the Lumiose City Gym

Clemont tinkered away at his new inventions, and he had a sudden idea. However, he couldn’t leave Bonnie alone for five minutes. He looked over and she was occupied with her Pichu doll as she sat on a table.

Clemont: Now Bonnie, I have to go and do something. Do not touch anything while I am gone.

Clemont left and Bonnie was alone in the room. She jumped down from the table she sat on, and walked up to the control panel for Clemont’s latest experiment.  It had buttons of all shapes and sizes, but she couldn’t. She looked away from the buttons and thought about the consequences. Unfortunately, she was crushed under the desire to push all of the buttons and she jumped up on the control panel.

Bonnie: Push all of the buttons!

She rolled, pushed, and hopped on all the buttons on the control panel. The screen started to flash pretty colors, and Clemont walked in with a chip in his hand.

Clemont: Phew, that takes care of that. Now then…

Clemont looked at what his sister did in the span of not even 2 minutes.

Clemont: Bonnie! What have you done?!

Bonnie: I can explain.

Clemont rushed over to the panel and tried to get everything under control, but then Bonnie came up with an idea.

Bonnie: Don’t worry big brother, I got this under control.

Bonnie ran over behind to the control panel and pulled an oversize plug out of the wall. As the plug was pulled, the panel forcefully shut down.

Bonnie: Horray!

Clemont examined the plug and realized what it was for.

Clemont: You just pulled the plug on the city’s power. Hey, do you hear something.

Bonnie: Yeah, I do. What could it be?

They both looked at the monitor and saw a count down.

Clemont: Dad still didn’t take this feature off!

Bonnie: Why?

Clemont: If the gym was to ever run out of power, then this computer will…

BOOM

Clemont coughed smoke out of his mouth, and continued his sentence.

Clemont: Blow up. Was anything harmed?

Bonnie: The machine is making sparkles.

Clemont: Come again.

Clemont looked at what his sister mentioned and realized that one of the city’s generators was severely damaged. He hung his head low and walked out of the room.

Clemont: Call dad. Tell him what happened.

Bonnie: Okay.

Present time

Construction Worker: That is everything we could get from the video feed. So while we get everything fixed, feel free to go where you want except the center or northern parts.

As the group walked away from the worker, Alex stopped suddenly and looked around.

Alex: Wait a minute… my children are gone!

Sina: Your children?

Dexio walked over to Sina and whispered in her ear.

Dexio: I told you. That’s what he calls his pokémon.

Sina: You mean those pokémon.

She pointed down the street where Alex saw his children in front of a building, and they all blushed and their eyes were on fire. He walked over to where they were, looked up to see what they saw, and immediately regretted it. Sina and Dexio both groaned as they walked up to Alex whose eyes were on fire, literally.

Sina: He still hasn’t taken down that poster board.

Dexio: Nope. Come on Alex, let’s go.

She grabbed Alex by the arm and dragged him in the building while Dexio balanced Alex’s pokémon on himself like he saw Alex do on Route 4. Sina put Alex down against the elevator wall as she waited for Dexio to get into the elevator.

Sina: Come on Dexio, Alex lifts and balances those pokémon like they are air. Plus, he is a rookie and we have been trainers for two years!

Dexio: Well, he’s stronger then he looks.

Sina: You sure it’s not that your weak?

Dexio: Be quiet and just hit the third floor button.

Sina hit the button as Dexio walked in and they were all taken to the third floor. On the elevator, Alex and his pokémon recovered from the awful billboard in the front of the building and realized they were on an elevator.

Kid: Now where are we?

Mary: All I remember is that dreaded billboard, and I tried to cover Glenn’s eyes from it.

Glenn: I didn’t see it. What did it look like?

Ken: You don’t want to know little guy. Here, you can play with my favorite stone until we get to wherever we’re going.

The elevator made a ding sound as the doors opened to reveal a tall man who looked like he expected Alex.

???: Bonjour! I am Professor Sycamore. I’ve been expecting you, come follow me.

Alex got up from his position and began to walk. It wasn’t long until his pokémon jumped to their usual positions for a party piggy back ride.

Sycamore: Now that you are here, I can test you to see if I made a good decision.

Shana: Hey Professor! Hi Alex!

Alex looked towards the elevator and saw that Shauna and Serena appeared out of nowhere.

Sycamore: That’s strange. I didn’t hear the elevator moving. How did you two get up here?

Before Shauna could open her mouth, and possibly ruin the secrecy of their new jobs. Serena intervened and made sure that everything remain a secret.

Serena: Can’t tell you. It’s a secret.

Sycamore: Anyways, let have a battle now.

Before Alex could react to that statement, Serena and Shauna both grabbed one of Alex’s arms and pulled in opposite directions. This caused Alex’s party to fall of his shoulders and head as Alex was jerked in different directions. His party sighed and sat down because they knew it was going to be a long time before they were needed.

Serena: You already got to battle him! It’s my turn now.

Shauna: No way! I want a rematch.

Sycamore stepped in and saved Alex before the girls would unintentionally rip one of his arms off.

Sycamore: Neither one of you are going to battle Alex, you two will battle each other. I will be his opponent for studies and science. Now Alex, I’m not that tough but…Show me your moves!

Alex vs Sycamore

BEGIN!

Sycamore: Go Bulbasaur!

Alex: Suzy, it’s you’re time to shine!

Suzy jumped up and quickly walked in front of Alex with her green onion pointed towards the Bulbasaur.

Suzy: Time to test my new move on you. I had this in mind for quite a while now, and now I can show it.

Alex: New move? Well, let’s see it.

Suzy: With pleasure. Aerial Ace!

Before the Bulbasaur could react, Suzy rushed at him and whipped her green onion in a diagonal motion. After that, Suzy swung her green onion back upwards in a diagonal motion and knocked the Bulbasaur out.

Bulbasaur: Owy that hurt.

Sycamore: Bulbasaur, return. Go Squirtle!

A blue turtle came out of the pokéball and did a little spin on its shell.

Squirtle: You can’t touch this.

Alex: Suzy, get back and Mary get out there!

Mary did a quick scan of the Squirtle who stopped its spin.

Squirtle: Didn’t you hear me? You can’t touch this!

Mary: Sorry, don’t need to touch you.

Alex: Mary, use gust!

Mary unleashed razor sharp winds by flapping her winds and it cut the Squirtle in various places. He teetered in place until he got his bearings back.

Squirtle: If I’m going down. I’m going to take you with me!

Sycamore: Let’s see here. Ah, Squirtle use tackle.

The Squirtle launched itself at Mary and tackled her off her feet.

Squirtle: Looks like I win.

Mary just looked at the Squirtle and pushed him away with a flap of her wings. The Squirtle was in the air, he went back into his shell and Mary tackled him back down to the ground. When the Squirtle came out of his shell, he was down for the count.

Sycamore: Oh, aren’t you an interesting trainer. Return Squirtle. Go Charmander!

A red lizard was sent out, and it moved its head up and down continuously.

Alex: Ugh, is he okay?

Sycamore: He must have found his way into my coffee. He’ll just be jittery for a long time.

Alex: Mary get back. Glenn, its show time!

Glenn hopped on Alex’s head and then jumped in front of Alex. He was ready for a battle until he noticed something about his opponent.

Glenn: Papa, his tail is on fire!

Alex laughed lightly as his son was naïve and didn’t know that Charmanders’ tail were always on fire.

Alex: Don’t worry about that Glenn. Just use bubble.

Glenn: Okay.

Glenn unleashed a torrent of bubbles that surrounded the Charmander and they popped simultaneously to majorly damage the Charmander.

Sycamore: Ah, this is bad Charmander, use Scratch!

The Charmander stuttered over to Glenn and lightly scratched Glenn.

Alex: Glenn, he’s going to expect an ordinary bubble. Show them your skills!

Glenn nodded and blew a few bubbles that surrounded the Charmander.

Sycamore: Now what are you trying to do? Charmander, brace yourself!

The bubbles arranged themselves in a line from smallest to largest. Sycamore was even more confused at what was going to happen.

Alex: Now!

Glenn pushed the smallest bubble into the bubble that was in front of it and was absorbed into it. This continued until it got to the largest bubble that was in front of Charmander. Sycamore noticed that the bubbles from before were still in the largest bubble.

Alex: This is the move between a father and son! We call it Bubble Casing!

The large bubble went forward and absorbed the Charmander in its multiple layers. Serena and Shauna stopped their battle and watched in awe at Alex’s battle.

Alex and Glenn: Pop!

Every single bubble popped in a loud bang, and the Charmander fell to the floor in a puddle knocked out. Sycamore smiled and started to clap for joy.

Sycamore: You are incredible! Your training style is very unique, and the bond you share with your pokémon to create a move. Everyone stop what you’re doing.

He looked to see everyone had their eyes on him.

Sycamore: Good. These trainers are prestigious and they are excellent. So, with great honor. I’m going to give them more pokémon. Alex, chose which pokémon you would like to take on your journey.

Alex looked down at the pokémon he just battled and thought for a moment. He nodded and smiled at his decision.

Alex: I chose you little guy.

He picked up the Bulbasaur.

Sycamore: Excellent, here have this stone. By the way, choose which pokémon to send to the PC on account of you having a full party.

Got Venasaurite.

Alex was about to send Lucy back to the PC when he felt something tug his jeans. He looked down to see Ken who gave him determined look.

Ken: I’ll go to the PC, I’m tired anyways.

Alex: Really? Okay, you can go to the PC. You’ll meet your new sister there too, so say hello.

Ken: Wait, new sister?

Before Ken could question further, Alex returned Ken to his ball and the ball dissipated into pixels.

Sycamore: Okay, now you two decide which ones you want.

Shauna: I’ll take the cute turtle, which leaves Shauna with the hyper active lizard.

Serena: Oh joy.

While Serena was tried to calm down her new pokémon, Alex bonded with his.

Alex: So you don’t have a name.

Bulbasaur: N...No sir.

Alex: Two things. One, don’t call me sir, I treat my pokémon like they are my children. Two, I’m going to give you a name.

Bulbasaur: As long as it isn’t weird, I’ll like it.

Alex clapped his hands together with a name for the Bulbasaur.

Alex: You’re name will be Barry. Do you like it?

Barry: I like it.

GOT Barry the Bulbasaur!
Met at Level 10 in Professor Sycamore’s Lab
Gender: Male
Nature: Quiet
Is very finicky

Alex: Alright, now let’s go.

Sycamore: Hold it. There are still two more people that need to show up.

Trevor: Salutations, we have arrived.

Alex: Gah! When did you get here?

Trevor slowly turned his head towards Alex.

Trevor: We were the first ones here, but unfortunately Tierno took me away to the musical theater.

Alex: Where is he now?

Trevor: He requested to go to the nearest theater, so I complied.

Alex: And that would be where?

Meanwhile in Nimbasa City

Tierno: I don’t know how I got here. But I love this place!

Producer: The stage is for Pokémon only!

Tierno: I am not coming down! This is heaven.

Back at Sycamore’s Lab

Trevor: I will be able to transfer your message to him.

Sycamore: Basically follow your dreams and be the best trainer you can be.

Trevor: But, I want to fill my pokédex.

Alex: A what now?

Sycamore: Oh yeah, forgot about that. This is a pokédex.

Got a pokédex.

Alex: Cool. Now why would you want to do that?

Trevor: Because… I feel like I was made for it.
