Nuzlocke X-Chapter 4

It was a beautiful day back at Vaniville Town, and our hero is just getting up from the events that happened yesterday. Alex got out of bed and looks around for his pokémon, and a blur of blue latched onto his chest.

Glenn: Morning Pa!

Before Alex could react to his adoptive son, he heard the sound of feathers fluttering and felt a pair of claws lightly dig into his shoulders.

Mary: Good morning Father.

Not even a minute into the new day and already things were looking good.

Alex: Good morning. Let’s get ready, we have a big day ahead of us.

After that, Alex sent Glenn and Mary downstairs so they could eat while he got dressed into his normal clothes. Grace noticed that her “grand-children” were on their way down-stairs and prepared some poke food for them.

Glenn: Morning Grandma.

Grace was still getting used to the fact that she was considered a grandma, but she loved it though. She placed the bowls down for Glenn, Mary, and Fletch. She was about to ask where her son was, but then he came down the stairs just as it happened.

Grace: So, this is your final day here?

Alex: Yeah after this, it’ll just be at Pokémon Centers. I hear that they’re good places for trainers to stay at. Now, how was everyone’s breakfast?

Glenn and Mary: Great!

Alex: Good, then let’s go! There’s a beautiful day ahead of us and we may find another pokémon to join us.

Glenn and Mary: Yeah!

As that was said Alex and co. jumped out of their seats and walked all the way to Route 2. After Alex arrived there, he saw Serena and Shauna ahead of him. He thought it would be rude to just go right through and ignore them completely, plus it would not set a good example for Glenn or Mary on how to greet friends.

Alex: Hey you guys! What’s up?

Serena and Shauna both tensed up at the sight of him, but then relaxed knowing that nothing bad would come from this.

Shauna: Hey Alex. Nothing much, but Serena here was going to show me how to catch a pokémon, maybe she could teach you as well.

Alex just stood there and held out his arm in the air. At first Shauna and Serena did not know why he did this or what he hoped to accomplish, but then realized when Mary perched herself on it.

Alex: I don’t think I will be needing the training, but thanks for the offer. This is Mary by the way.

Alex gave Mary a scratch under her beak, and she loved it. Serena and Shauna didn’t know what to think of this, but they quickly shook it off, gave Alex some pokéballs, and went to the front of the forest entrance.

Shauna: Come on Alex. It’ll be fun. Join us.

Alex was about to enter the forest and follow his friends when he was stopped by a young kid.

???: Halt! I, The Great Austin will not allow you to pass.

Alex: Now, I don’t want to hurt you kid. Run along now.

This infuriated the child and caused him to throw a tantrum and a pokéball.

??? :THE GREAT AUSTIN SAYS NO!

There was no getting out of this one, but since both of his pokémon were out it made things easier. Austin’s pokémon was a Zizagoon, and it looked fast. This was obviously Glenn’s battle.

Alex: Alright Glenn, use Bubble!

Glenn jumped in the air and used bubble on the Zizagoon causing it to tumble on the ground, but it was still ready for more and got up.

Austin: Grrr. Use Tackle!

The attack did make contact with Glenn, but didn’t damage him too much.

Alex: Glenn end this match with a pop.

Glenn understood and began to use bubble.

Austin: Not falling for this again. Dodge it!

The Zizagoon got itself ready for another barrage of bubbles, but it never came. It looked around and noticed that everything was shaking and seemed closer. It took a closer look and realized that it was in a giant bubble high above the ground.

Austin: Pop it ya stupid vermin! Pop the bubble!

The Zizagoon did as it was told and popped the bubble, but as soon as it did the sound of the pop did major damage to it. It started to fall to the earth rapidly, and tried to stabilize itself but to no avail. It finally made contact with the ground in a huge thud. Alex and Austin both looked at the Zizagoon and waited to see if it would get back up. The Zizagoon never did get up, and Alex was the victor. After that, Alex went to go get his pokémon healed up.

Austin: Crud, I knew I should have caught a Rattata they’re so cooler. Return Zizagoon.

However, the pokéball tried to return Zizagoon but it didn’t go back in the pokéball and stayed limp on the ground. Austin began to cry when he realized what had happened to his Zizagoon. Alex did not see the pokéball failing to return the Zizagoon and only thought the kid cried because he lost. After finally entering the forest, Alex saw all his friends in there. Shauna saw him and quickly rushed over to talk to him.

Shauna: What took you so long? You had us worried.

Alex: Just got out of a trainer battle, and luckily no one got hurt. Sorry for making you guys wait.

Shauna: Oh that sounds like it was fun. Oh! I just had a great idea. How about I tag along with you through the forest.

Alex was happy at the idea and accepted it. Glenn and Mary were on his head and shoulder respectively, when Shauna got a little curious.

Shauna: Hey Alex. How can you carry Glenn and Mary both at the same time?

Alex: Well that’s a good question Shauna. You see my body is...GAH!

Alex stopped mid-sentence as he was shocked by lightning. Shauna looked down and saw Alex was shocked to a crisp. He jumped up seemingly unharmed and looked around for who was responsible for it. He saw a Pikachu in a clearing of the forest and gave a smile to it.

Alex: Shauna. Leave this one to me. After all it is the first one I met here.
Shauna nodded and backed away as Alex got ready to battle the Pikachu.

Alex: You can do a great thunder-shock, it could use some training though. What is your name, and how would you like to join the family?

Pikachu: My name is Kid, now shut the hell up, stand still, and I am not interested in this “family” thing.

Alex knew he was at a disadvantage with two of his pokémon being weak to electric. However, he liked playing with fire a bit so he called for Mary to go out. Mary went out to battle, but realized who her opponent was.

Mary: A Pikachu! You’re having me fight an electric type! Do you want me to die or something?!

Alex: Mary, please have trust in me as your father. Just follow my lead, and fly around using sand attack.

Mary was a bit skeptical about this, but decided to have faith in Alex. Kid was about to shoot another Thunder-Shock, but got hit by Mary’s sand attack and missed. He tried to get the sand out of his eyes, but could not and Mary kept flapping sand in his eyes to the point of he could not see.

Alex: Great job Mary. Now barrage him tackles!

As Mary kept flying around she would attack Kid until he was almost down.

Alex: Alright, now go pokéball!

Alex threw the pokéball at Kid and the ball shook three times.

GOT KID!
Met at Lv. 4 in Santalune Forest
Nature: Serious
Capable of taking hits
Ability: Static

Alex sent Kid out of his ball and greeted him with open arms literally.

Alex: Welcome to the family Kid!

Kid however did not want to be part of this and shocked Alex. As soon as this happened Alex gently grabbed Kid by his hand and looked at Glenn, Mary, and Shauna.

Alex: Shauna, can you please look after my children while I talk to Kid.
Shauna nodded as Alex walked off into the forest with Kid in tow. They waited there a few minutes until a massive thunder shock could be seen from even outside the forest. They looked to where Alex and Kid walked off to and saw Alex with a few burn marks walking back with Kid who had a smile and a couple of dried tears.

Alex: Thanks for watching them Shauna. I just had to do something.

Shauna was wondering what Alex did to suddenly get that Pikachu to respect him.

*5 min earlier*

In a clearing in the forest, Alex and Kid sat down across from each other. Both were staring into each other’s eyes waiting for the other one to talk first.

Kid: I don’t want to be part of your stupid family. I could get by on my own.

Alex: Oh. What happened in the last battle? You got beat by Mary when you were in the advantage. You need training and guidance!

Alex shouted that last part and offered his hand to Kid.

Alex: If you can knock me out with your thundershock, then you can go. If you don’t my offer still stands.

Kid not wanting to pass up a good opportunity immediately latched onto Alex’s arm and mustered up the strongest thunder-shock he can do. It was a massive thundershock that could be seen and heard from inside and outside the forest. However, while the thunder shock was huge it did not do huge damage to Alex and just gave him a little burn. Kid found it amazing that his best wasn’t good enough and that Alex was in the same position before the shock. Kid was on the brink of tears because he made a fool of himself, but before he could even shed a single tear he felt something pet his head. Kid turned and saw Alex with a warm smile, this calmed Kid down and looked at Alex’s hand.

Alex: Now then, do you want to join my family and go on adventures. You’ll grow stronger, meet new siblings, and most of all have a great time.

Kid now started to cry as he ran up to Alex and hugged him.

Kid: I’ll be a part of the family. Please let me be a part of your family!

Alex saw that he got a new son on his team. He felt proud of himself, he was going to be the father figure of all his pokémon in this adventure, and see it to the end that they will all be safe.

*Back to the Present Time*

Shauna looked around and saw that Serena, Tierno, and Trevor beat all the trainers they could on their way out of the forest. The wild pokémon were starteled and ran away from the sound of Kid’s thunder shock. So that just left an easy walk to the exit of the forest for everyone. Serena was talking about Trainer education to both Tierno and Trevor since Alex probably knew most of it, but Tierno kept mentioning dance moves and kept dancing in a circle.

Shauna: Well, this is it. Thanks for the walk through the forest.

Alex gave a nod and a smile towards Shauna as she walked off on her merry way.

Tierno: Yeah see ya in the next town dude.

Trevor: See you at a later time friend.

Serena: I’m still going to beat you.

Alex: Now that that is done and over with. There is a new route which means…

Kid, Glenn, and Mary: A new sibling!

Alex: That’s right! Also, there is Santalune City. The next Pokémon Center is in sight, and there is something going on there.

Alex was right, for there was a crowd in front of the Pokémon Center and they looked like they were ready for some big unveiling.

Alex: I think I know what we’re doing next.
