Nuzlocke X- Chapter 21

Deaths: 2

The room was tense, and uneasiness practically filled the air. Alex tried his best to keep his rage bottled up, but it didn’t help that Diantha had a satisfied look on her face or the fact that she looked right at him. Alex quickly returned his pokémon to their pokéballs before anything bad happened.  

Shauna: Professor Sycamore? Champion Diantha? What are you guys doing here?

Sycamore: I heard of Alex’s victory over at the Shalour City gym, and since the next gym is in Coumarine City, I decided to drop by here to say congrats to him. I don’t really know why Diantha is here though.

Diantha: I just heard that you were going to be here Sycamore, so I wanted to chat with you.

Alex couldn’t help but feel like Diantha just lied, there was probably a bigger reason why she was here. He went into a deep thought for a few seconds, until he snapped back into reality before someone realized that he zoned out. He also noticed that Sycamore stared at the gauntlet that took up a good portion of his left arm.

Sycamore: I see that you have the ability to mega evolve your pokémon now?

Alex nodded as he showed everyone in the room his Mega Gauntlet.

Alex: I do. Key stone, a mega Stone, and a strong bond with my pokémon. But don’t think that it’s all fun and game though.

Shauna: Why?

Sycamore: Because Shauna, when a pokémon and trainer do mega evolution, they are in complete sync. So in sync that the trainer feels the pain inflicted on the pokémon.

Shauna: Oooh, I get it now. So is it a good thing that Serena can’t mega evolve her pokémon?

Alex and Sycamore: Yes.

A short silence ran throughout the room as Sycamore tossed Alex a disk and walked towards the door to the monorail station. Alex caught the disk quickly, and with further inspection, he saw that it was the HM that contained Fly.

Sycamore: You’re going to be needing that to travel to places faster. You just need to beat the next gym in order to use it. Take care of yourselves pupils, I feel like something strange is going on back at my lab.


**Meanwhile back at Sycamore’s Lab**


Luther: I KNEW THAT SYCAMORE WOULD HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THESE!

Ken: I love Go through Sycamore’s stuff Wednesday.

A variety of magazines were thrown on the floor, all of them open and their contents revealed. All the rambunctious sons of Alex were currently snooped through them. Thankfully, the only ones that were in Sycamore’s room was Luther and Ken. At that moment, Steven Stone walked into the room with good news!

Steven Stone: Sycamore! I just found something about….the…mega stones…

Luther and Ken were scared for a bit as Steven picked up a magazine on the floor. The long picture of the magazine unfolded itself to Steven who held the magazine up to his face.

Steven: Gorgeous….

Ken: Luther…is he getting a nosebleed….

Luther: YOU ARE READING A MAGAZINE ABOUT STONES SIR!

Steven: Quiet you…


Back at the Monorail Station

Sycamore: Very strange things…

Sycamore quickly ran out of the station which left his pupils alone with Diantha. Since she did not want to get involved in what could happen, Shauna walked over to the desk of the station and got tickets to go down to the lower half of the town. The desk was quite the distance in the back in the station, so that left Alex with Diantha. The champion just looked at Alex before she brought a hand up to her mouth and giggled lightly. Like last time they met, Alex was immediately uncomfortable.

Diantha: You really cared about that Pikachu, didn’t you.

The tension in the room increased drastically as Diantha brought up a subject she knew would get under Alex’s skin. His demeanor and his face hardened into a frown. Diantha didn’t budge, and kept going.

Diantha: It was a shame though…The way you cried for that Pikachu was something else entirely. The sound was so…so…ravishing. I want to hear more cries like that from you in future battles.

She walked towards Alex with a malicious smirk on and pinched his cheek lightly.

Diantha: Because remember, I will always be watching your battles. Ta-ta~.

As Diantha left, Alex practically seethed with rage. Not only did she bring up Kid, but she full on said that she liked Kid’s death! He calmed himself down before he made rash decisions. Shortly after, Shauna came back with two monorail tickets in her hand, and they boarded the monorail. Both of them enjoyed the quiet trip down to the lower half of the city. Once the monorail stopped at its destination, both trainers walked out, and Alex let all of his pokémon back out of their pokéballs. Alex was glad for the fact that his pokémon could not hear anything when they were in their pokéballs. He heard the familiar sound of the rapid flaps of wings, and stuck his right arm out for a certain pokémon to land on. His suspicion was correct as Mary landed on his arm without fault and nuzzled her head onto Alex’s.

Mary: I did what you wanted Father. Suzy and Honey are in the PC, and Lavida and Lisa are in the care of the Day Care.  

Alex: Great job Mary. Thank you for doing that.

Mary jumped from Alex’s arm to his head as he continued to walk and everyone follow him. He quickly saw the path that led to the gym, and another path that led to the next route. He thought to himself and made the choice to just go near the path to the gym, it wasn’t like anything bad was going to happen to anyone. The mere moment that Alex set foot on the path to the gym, Serena jumped out of a nearby bush with twigs on her clothes and if the tangled and frazzled mess that could even be called her hair. Everyone jumped back from the scare and fright especially when they looked into her eyes. The look in her eyes was intensely crazy and bloodshot while she breathed heavily and pointed at Alex. Everyone jumped back in fear and held their hands up

Serena: Y-y-ou will show me Mega Evolution now!

Alex: Serena! W-what a surprise to see you here! What brings you here?

Serena: No talk. Mega Evolution, battle, NOW!

Alex flinched at the command that Serena barked, but decided to comply and began the battle.

One smack down later…

Al dusted himself off as Bertha patted both his and Jojo’s heads. At the moment Serena’s Absol, Meowstic, and her Quilladin all laid in a pile knocked out but still alive. Serena just sulked in a nearby corner huddled in a ball as she repeated to herself how Alex didn’t even need to use Mega Evolution. The group slowly snuck away to avoid further conflict with the girl and made it to Route 13! Alex was the first to run down the steps to the barren land and breathe in its “fresh” air, deeply.

Alex: Ech! Oh gosh, it’s like I’m breathing in clay! Don’t breathe too heavily here kids, this place has strong winds filled with clay.

Everyone heeded his warning and looked around the route. Other than some rocks and some desert plants, the route seemed void of life other than themselves. Alex turned to the group and began to apologize to everyone for the letdown of nothing being here, but everyone’s eyes were not on Alex’s apology. They were on the shark like fin that not only protruded from the ground, but was going at a very fast speed as it advanced towards Alex.

Alex: So, I’m really sorry for dragging you kids out here to se-

Bertha: Ummm Father?

Alex: In a minute Bert-

*CRUMBLE!*

???: RAWR!

CHOMP!

Alex stood still for a second as a pain danced through his head. He tried to look to the right, but saw nothing but darkness…and a tongue. Whatever what was on his head, had teeth, and a strong bite.

Alex: AHH! Oh gosh, this pokémon got me good!

So he ran with a weird ground shark on him, but dropped his pokédex in the process. Shauna quickly picked it up and went to see what kind of pokémon had its mouth around Alex.

Pokedex: Oh what this thing? That’s a Gible. My database says that it’s a Land Shark Pokémon, which is pretty straight forward if you ask me.

Shauna: Why is it biting Alex though?

Shauna looked up to see that every one of Alex’s pokémon went after him to help him get the Gible off his face.

Pokedex: Listen Missy, for one thing that’s a girl Gible, her top fin does not have a notch on it. Second, he probably stepped to close to her nest, or it’s her lunch time, I don’t know.

The pokédex shut itself off as Shauna puffed her cheeks in remark to how rude this pokédex was. The rudeness of the dex was lifted though as Alex and everyone returned, with the Gible on Alex’s head no less. She had a happy look on her face as she giggled, although the same can’t be said for Alex who had a look of discomfort on his face.

Shauna: You know Alex, this is what happens when you put almost every pokémon you capture on your head. Your spine and neck must be killing you right now.

Alex: Hey, you would make this face if a land shark bit you in the head. That possibly came out wrong. Anyways, I’ve decided that her name is going to be Eva!

Alex gently tapped Eva affectionately with a great ball on her face, and she was captured instantly with a click of the great ball. Alex rubbed the area that Eva bit him while the great ball bursted into pixels.

Alex: Welcome to the family, Eva.

Alex looked around the route as an idea came to his head.

Alex: Hey Shauna, what’s the next gym going to be?

Shauna: A grass gym. Why?

A smirk grew on Alex’s face as he walked back up the stairs to grab the pokémon he had in mind.

Alex: Just need a confirmation, that’s all.

Alex returned everyone to their pokéballs immediately, grabbed Shauna by her hand, and ran over to the pokémon center of the city. Both of them laughed along the way, but it was mostly Alex’s sheer happiness of a new challenge that made Shauna laugh too.

After a quick rotation at the Pokémon Center, and some grinding in Route 13…

Alex pulled on his gauntlet to make sure that it was on tight, because he did not want it to fall off during the battle. He was not at the gym just yet as he was just outside the door. He glanced over his shoulder to see Shauna sit on one of the center’s couches enthralled by whatever what was being shown on the television screen above her. He double checked to see if he had everything prepared and walked towards the gym’s entrance where Serena was still in a rut over her loss. As Alex got closer to the cave of the gym, he looked over to see a man in a trench coat asleep and near him was a Talonflame, a Flareon, a Braixen, and a Pyroar with only a pony tail of yellow and red hair instead of the usual mighty lion mane it had. It was probably a girl Pyroar, but Alex commended the man for the level of trust he and his pokémon possibly shared. A minute later, Alex was at the mouth of the cave that led to the gym, and whatever the leader had planned, Alex was going to counter it. He did not want to wait any longer and ran inside the cave. What Alex had expected was a wide arena like his other gym battles, but instead he was met with various walls of plants, thick bushes, and trees as far as the eye could see. He looked up to the ceiling and was taken back in total shock of how high the ceiling was. Even if Volvagia was here, she wouldn’t even be able to touch it! Not even if she was on her tail could she even scrape it!

BZZT!

Pre-Recorded Ramos: Listen up runt, you are in my garden maze now. My pokémon and I are hidden somewhere in this maze, and you and your pokémon will have not only have to track us down, but also fight us. You are at an extreme disadvantage runt, my pokémon and I know this maze like the back of our hands because we made it with sweat and blood! We have war experiences whippersnapper, and we’ve been in more trenches and fox holes than you have eaten slices of bread! I would wish you luck, but there is no mercy on the battle field maggot. The battle begins as soon as the message is over.

BZZT!

Slowly, the cameras in the entire gym powered on and streamed the gym battle around the world as it went down. Everywhere on the Kalos channel of TV, a  frontal shot of Alex and Ramos were placed next to each other with a “vs.” symbol in between them, as thorny vines danced behind the photos for effect. Unlike last time, more people tuned in to see the father figure battle Ramos. Six pokéballs were beneath Alex’s picture while only three were under Ramos’ picture.

In Kanto…

A raven haired girl flipped through the channels of the center’s television with hopes of a something good being on. It’s not like she was going anywhere anytime soon in her current condition, but her pokémon gave her company and that’s all she really needed. Her Zubat, Alice, rested near her and she finally came across the Kalos channel of the TV. In an instant she recognized Alex’s face and excitement grew within her when she saw him in another gym battle.

Raven: He’s doing another gym battle? Yes! I can’t wait to see how this will go!

Raven gently nudged Alice awake so that she too can watch the battle.


A young boy with glasses, a scar that ran horizontally from his upper mouth to just barely graze the bottom of his glasses, had recently stopped at a pokémon center on his way to route 2 with his pokémon and his stalker of a friend. He sat down on the couch when he realized that his Ivysaur, Buddy hopped onto the couch as well. On the TV screen was the same image that was on Raven’s television.

Buddy: What’re we watching today dude?

Garcia: Just a gym battle that’s in another region.

Buddy: Sweet, can’t wait to see how this is going to turn out!

In Johto…

A young woman was in the middle of a troublesome time at the moment, both the stain of unpacking and getting used to a new place known as New Bark Town. Thankfully, her Nidoqueen and her Raichu were able to help her in this task. But at the moment, no one unpacked or touched anything at the moment because all of their attention was given to the TV that was recently set up. Probably not good in hindsight, but it killed boredom. Like everyone else, they stumbled upon the Kalos channel and saw the battle about to unfold.

Arsenic:  Oh, another gym battle.

Thunder: Keep it on, this looks good. The kid’s got six pokémon on his team and the leader only has three pokémon.

Sofi: Alright, this does look good so why not.

Next to that house, lived a young female teenage trainer by the name of Will sat in her bed. It was her last day before she started her journey. She was still unsure about the whole idea, and continued to think about her new Totodile friend, Liberty. She turned on her TV to at least take her mind off of the choice she had to make, and came to the Kalos channel.

Will: Maybe this can help...



In Goldenrod City, a young man with mahogany hair walked through the busy streets of the city. His black overcoat mostly protected his white t-shirt, and his black pants were on the slow steady process of becoming faded. He couldn’t shake his mind from his one friend, Sofi. Every day since he came here, the thought never left his head.  Daniel shook his head and turned his head towards the many public TVs of Goldenrod City. Among one of them, he saw Alex’s and Ramos’ face with the effects in the background. So he deiced to just sit back, and use that to get his mind off of Sofi.



In the Pokémon Center of Route 32, a young dark skinned girl with amber eyes and a neat hairstyle clutched a newly hatched Togepi close to her as she sat on one of the couches. Right now, she was content just by the sight of adorable egg pokémon. The egg pokémon was asleep in her grasp, so the trainer watched TV to pass the time when the battle image flashed dimly on the screen.

Verde: Oh, this fight looks interesting. I wonder who this boy is though.


In Hoenn…

A black haired young girl with a Mismagius hat that sat atop it watched with awe as the TV showed Alex’s face.

Emma: Oh my goodness, he’s doing another gym battle?! AWESOME!



A blonde haired young woman with a blue head band wrapped around her head, and strange yellow markings on her arm sat on one of the many benches of Rustboro city. Not only was Yu in the middle of a decision, but she was also hungry. But what else was new? The decision was what to get first, a way to Dewford Town or to get some food. Her eyes shot open as she bolted out of the bench and towards the pokémon center that had a faint smell of cooked food from one of the open windows. Yu almost busted down the hinges of the door and finally saw some food. She was about to grab some when her attention turned was redirected at the battle image of Alex vs. Ramos. So she grabbed an empty plate, slapped some food on it, and sat down to see what was about to unfold.


A flamboyant boy has just finished his most recent contest with great success. Of course he was still in his contest costume, to which all of the accessories jingled and clanked together to attest to this. His Gardevoir stood by him as he flashed a smile at her.

Ringabel: This is great Bell. What a wonderful place to be in, it's just so...so...me.

The Gardevoir only smiled gently and nodded. Ringabel gave a thumbs as he turned on the TV. The thorny vines effects that danced around the screen quickly caught his attention.

Ringabel: Oh wow this is nice. It's like Deus Ex all over again!



In Unova…

A young girl sat in her house with her Tepig, Spitfire, close to her. She fumbled with her mood necklace as she watched the TV with interest. On it was Alex.

Mir: I wonder how this is going to turn out.


With all the joys in Castelia City, one would be lost in the vast amount of things to do. But, not for one orange haired trainer girl. She sat on one of the many seats in the large center. At the moment, her attention was being given to a poster of a brown haired woman with shiny black eyes and a very goofy open smile. Tolkie slowly read the poster to make sure that she did not misread it the first time.

Tolkie: Warning: - This Trainer is Dangerous? Blar Blar Blar Blar Stuff Blar Blar? Love Lord N? Who the heck is this person?

Sam: Tolkie! Look there’s a gym battle on right now!

Being called over by her Patrat got Tolkie’s attention off of the poster and onto a nearby TV screen. The Kalos coat of arms flashed briefly on the screen before the title card of the fight took its place.

Tolkie: Yeah, this looks good.

In the comfort of his own home, a trainer sat on his chair, bored, with nothing much to do. Sure, he had his pokémon to keep him company, but there was nothing significant to do. He flipped through the channels and stopped immediately as he recognized Alex’s face.

Liam: Hey! It’s the kid from that battle with that roller blade gym leader. Snowbell, Toad, Harry come over here!

From the enthusiastic call from their trainer, a Meowstic, an Amoonguss, and a Delphox walked into the room Liam was in. They saw the TV, sat down, and got ready to enjoy the fight.


From an undisclosed area in Unova, a secret hideout for Team Plasma was located deep within the dense forest. At the moment, a young teenage girl looked at a picture of her eternal love, Aoi Andrews. Her mind and heart fluttered just by the mere thought of him. She was so lost in the photo, she didn’t even hear her door open.

Plasma Grunt: Excuse me, M-Ms. Aya.

Aya: WHAT IS IT?!

Plasma Grunt: T-there’s something on TV right now that you can watch until your b-back on the field.

Aya huffed and the Plasma Grunt backed up against the wall.

Aya: Fine. But I’m not going to like it.

The grunt scurried into Aya’s room quickly, turned on her TV, and ran out of the room before Aya shouted at him more for interrupting Aoi time. Alex’s face and Ramos’s face were side by side, and Aya groaned to herself.

Aya: A gym battle? Hope this kid loses.


In Kalos itself…

In the Lumiose City Pokémon Center, a teenager sat with his orange eyes glued on the TV screen in front of him. The teen wore a black t-shirt with a white overcoat on, his hair was died black in order to conceal his identity. The disguise was a huge success so far, and only two person knew who he really was. He really had to thank Sid for doing this and being able to hear his lover say her true feelings about him. Right now though, his attention was Alex’s face and the vines that swirled behind him.

Heilu: Holy crap it’s the kid that lost his Pikachu.



A young woman sat in her new house that she and her new husband recently moved into. It was a very nice place, and both of them were very happy. The woman’s husband was out at the moment, so that left her with her pokémon in the house. She idly watched the television to pass the time when she too stumbled upon the Kalos channel. Luckily, before she even had to call, two of her pokémon walked into the room. Spaz the Emboar and Romeo the Delphox both took their places in order to watch the channel that had their trainer enthralled.

Maria: I wonder what kind of pokémon this trainer has…


Back in the Coumarine Gym….

Alex looked around and saw one of the camera lenses zoom in on him. He smiled to himself as he threw everyone out of their pokéballs. A Farfetch’d, an Aerodactyl, a Pidgeotto, a Golbat, a Combusken, and a Fletchinder came out and landed in front of Alex.

Alex: Suzy, Luther, Mary, Bruce, Ken, and Lucy.

Everyone nodded their heads as they looked up at Alex who cracked his knuckles. Enthusiasm filled everyone as Alex gave his signature toothy grin.

Alex: Let’s find this old coot and show him a thing or two! LET’S GO!

Everyone: YEAH!
