Nuzlocke X-Chapter 13

Alex looked up at the behemoth of a pokémon he faced at the moment. He clenched his teeth as he tossed his pokéballs in the air.

Alex: Show time guys!

The pokéballs opened up and all of the pokémon in them came down to the ground. Kid, Barry, Glenn, Jojo, Stripes, and Ken all landed on the ground on their feet. Kid jumped in front of the group, ready to take on the Snorlax with a smirk on his face. The rest of them saw this and stepped back towards Alex who stood tall with his shoulders back.

Kid: Alright tubby, show me what you’re made of.

Snorlax: Grrrrrgh!

Alex: Kid, he is angry enough as he is, don’t make him angrier. Use thundershock!

Kid charged up and fired a small bolt of electricity at the Snorlax. Kid’s smirk slowly faded once he realized that his attack didn’t do that much damage to the Snorlax, which caused the Snorlax to laugh and pound his monstrous gut.

Snorlax: Sorry little fella, but your tiny attacks won’t get through my body. My turn now!

The Snorlax ran towards Kid and tackled him with full force which sent Kid air borne towards Alex.

Alex: KID!

Alex ran as fast as he could to catch Kid. Alex dove with his arms out and Kid landed safely in them as Barry walked up to the Snorlax with a determined look on his face.

Snorlax: So you think you can take me huh? Think you’re a big boy?

The Snorlax tried to get under Barry’s skin but it did not work as Barry kept his cool.

Barry: You’re tired.

Snorlax: Come again?

Barry: You’re just mad that you didn’t get any sleep. I can tell that this isn’t how you normally act.

Before the Snorlax could retort, a burst of powder came out of Barry’s bulb. The Snorlax didn’t see it coming and had his mouth open as he coughed and wheezed from the powder.

Snorlax: What was that?!

Barry: Poison powder, and this…

Barry’s bulb shot some seeds out and latched onto the Snorlax. Not even seconds later, vines slowly sprouted from the seeds, and wrapped around the Snorlax.

Barry: Is leech seed. The two moves that would slowly drain your health on their own, but work extremely well together.

The Snorlax laughed as he realized that the powder was before was poison powder.

Snorlax: Nice try, but I’m immune to poison, so that didn’t work.

Barry: That was to distract you.

The Snorlax doubled over as he felt a dull pain all over his body. He tried to use amnesia to try and forget about the pain, but it didn’t work. The Snorlax finally fell over as it tried to find some way to get these seeds off. Alex finally looked up from Kid and saw Barry practically dominate the Snorlax, he smiled as he saw his quiet little boy take on the big behemoth. The Snorlax slowly got up and picked up Barry in his paws which quivered from the fatigue of being drained.

Snorlax: You must be putting my energy somewhere and I have a good feeling of where it is!

The Snorlax licked Barry’s bulb which caused Barry to shiver in fear. Alex saw this and took a pokéball out of his bag and aimed his shot. With a wind up, Alex launched the ball at the Snorlax.

Alex: Go pokéball!

The pokéball spiraled and hit the Snorlax square in his stomach. The Snorlax looked at Alex with a grin as he thought that Alex tried to attack him now.

Snorlax: I told you already. Attacks won’t get through my body.

Alex: Guess again.

The pokéball bounced off and the Snorlax went into the pokéball as it fell to the ground. It shook once… twice…three times!

Alex walked up to the ball, and picked it up in his hands. He smiled as he thought of the perfect name that would be great for the Snorlax.

Alex: Welcome to the family, King.

The ball dissipated into pixels as Alex gave a name to the Snorlax. As it did Shauna and the two other people ran up to him.

Shauna: That was so cool! You caught the Snorlax, and now we can move on.

Guy: Yeah, thanks Mac. Now we can get to the daycare again.

Alex: Daycare?

Guy: Yeah, a place where pokémon are looked after when their trainers can’t.

Alex: Really? I’m going to have to check that out then.

Shauna grabbed Alex’s hand with enthusiasm and practically dragged the poor teen over to the day care.

Shauna: Let’s go!

Shauna had stars in her eyes as she knew what the daycare center was all about and wanted to show Alex all the joys of it. It only took a few minutes, but they both arrived at the day care. It was a small building, but it had a big area in the back of it where numerous pokémon played with each other. This sight caused Alex to smile as he saw the pokémon have fun. He looked down to where his pokémon were and they all had faces of bewilderment of what this place had. Shauna chuckled slightly as she led Alex and his pokémon inside the building. The inside wasn’t small as it had a couple of bookcases, a PC, a counter, a person behind a counter, Tierno, Trevor, and Serena.

Alex: Wait a minute….GUYS!

The three trainers turned around to see Alex and Shauna, Alex did not seem to comprehend their presence.

Alex: How did you guys get passed the Snorlax?! Especially you two, you guys were in the town when I left for the bridge.

Trevor turned around and gave Alex a false explanation of how they all crossed the bridge before the Snorlax slept on it. Alex took a moment and believed it because he didn’t see the Snorlax when he was thrown by that hooded figure.

What actually happened two hours earlier…

Tierno: Why did he put the Snorlax down here?! Now how are we going to get past this thing, it’s huge!

Trevor: Performing analysis on the Snorlax.

Serena just sighed and put a hand over her eyes as she tried to think of a way to get past this Snorlax. The river below the bridge was incredibly fast, and the gap between the two pieces of land that the bridge connected was huge too. Serena sighed as Trevor clapped his hands together.

Trevor: Snorlax approximately 6’11” or 2.1 meters in height and weighs approximately 1014.1 pounds or 460 kg. It is also a male.

Tierno: How did you get all of that just by looking at the Snorlax?

Tierno looked quizzically at Trevor who stood still. Trevor turned and looked at Serena and Tierno with ice-cold eyes.

Trevor: With the same thing I’m going to use to get us past this Snorlax. Calculations. Now both of you grab on.

Serena and Tierno both grabbed onto Trevor and waited for something to happen. Tierno shook a little in fear of what Trevor was going to do, especially what happened after the Hearthome City incident.

Trevor: Rocket jump!

With that, Trevor jumped across the bridge at a high speed and cleared it without any troubles. His face showed no emotion in the air, while Serena and Tierno practically screamed for their lives during the jump as they looked down at the river that roared with currents. After they landed, Tierno and Serena both slapped Trevor.

Tierno and Serena: Warn us next time you do that!

Tierno and Serena both walked to the Daycare and walked in which left a confused red-faced Trevor who tilted his head.

Trevor: But I did.

Present Time

Alex was out on Route 7 with his pokémon, Serena, Trevor, Shauna, and Tierno. They all came out of the daycare center after their success of removing Alex from the doorway of the building as he left Suzy and Honey in the care of other people. It made Alex feel uneasy, but the rest of the group decided to play a game to catch a pokémon from the route. They were all spread out as to try and find more pokémon. Shauna, Tierno, and Serena didn’t find anything, Trevor found a Flabébé, and Alex found a Smeargle outside the daycare center that painted the walls of it.

The group walked around a little longer on the route until another building caught Alex’s attention.

Alex: What’s this place?

Alex stood in front of the Battle Chateau and looked at all of the details it had. Trevor walked up and quickly scanned it for him, and clapped his hands together.

Trevor: This is the Battle Chateau where organized battles are held. Gym leaders are known to show up if challenged, and on one occasion the Champion herself showed up.

Alex: Sounds fun, but I’m not interested at the moment. Why don’t we continue onwards?

It was only a little farther, until Serena came up with an idea. An idea that would get Alex to show more of his skills as she was curious about what else lies in his strategies.

Serena: How about we have a double battle?

Tierno: I’m in.

Trevor: Agreed.

Shauna: I’ll ref. You guys just pick your…

Shauna looked up and saw Serena extremely close to Alex while Trevor stood just as close to Tierno.

Shauna: I guess the teams are settled. Now let’s get this battle started!

Serena, Trevor, and Tierno all threw out pokéballs while Alex pointed towards the battle.

Alex: Your time Barry!

Barry jumped out and the pokéballs opened. Serena’s Fletchling, Tierno’s Corphish, and Trevor’s own Pikachu came out and landed on the ground. The rest of Alex’s pokémon saw that this was going to take a while, so they all went to train on their own. Alex put a hand to his chin as an idea came to his head.

Alex: Serena I’m going to do something, I don’t want you to panic at all though.

Serena: Sure, what are you going to do?

Alex: Something that will help us win. Barry, grab Serena’s Fletchling with your vine!

Barry did so and coiled one of his vines around the Fletchling which caused it to chirp in surprise.

Alex: Now toss her Fletchling like a dart at the Pikachu!

Serena caught wind of Alex’s idea and decided to join in. She saw the positions that Barry was in, and if he threw her Fletchling like that, then her Fletchling would hit the Pikachu and the vine would still carry out in motion and whip Tierno’s Corphish.

Serena: Fletchling, use quick attack when Barry throws you!

The Fletchling calmed down as it knew what to do now, and relaxed in Barry’s grip. It was only a matter of time before Barry threw the Fletchling like a dart at the Pikachu and hit it square in the chest. Barry’s vine was still in motion and slapped the Corphish across its face, which made it fall to the ground.

Alex: Dart whip!

Both of the pokémon still breathed slowly, but were not able to continue the fight. Tierno returned his Corphish with a sad look on his face, as did Trevor with his Pikachu. Alex and Serena both awaited for Trevor to throw out his pokémon that he caught on the route but he held his arms up in the air.

Trevor: I surrender. Odds of me winning are one to one million, extremely thin chance, you two win.

Serena and Alex were about to jump with joy until they saw Barry get enveloped in a bright light.

Barry: Dad! What’s happening?!

Serena: He’s evolving!

Alex: He is!

Meanwhile in another part of the route

Jojo and Kid somehow found themselves in a double battle with two trainers. Thankfully, they only had Smeargles, so it wasn’t that bad. Glenn and Ken were also in fights individually. Stripes turned her head from one fight to the next in awe. Sure, she knew how this family worked, and sure she didn’t exactly know what Alex was capable of, but it was certain that he did not play favorites.

Kid & Jojo: Done!

Ken: DONE!

Glenn: I did it!

Before Stripes could run up and give a group hug to everyone, bright lights enveloped Glenn and Ken as they too underwent evolution.

Glenn: I feel funny…
